Photoblog v.2 plus [film discussion]

Greetings from FINAL hell.

I am taking the time to discuss some photography because 1. I do not want to study for ArtHistory & 2. I feel like typing.

Film photography, at first is hell but when you get to know it its love. I think its funny how that works out. Throughout my photography class this semester i have witnessed people having the worst luck ever with film. When i say worst, i mean the worst. My poor classmate [Allie] at the beginning of the semester had wasted her time on 5 rolls of film. She thought it was the way she was developing the film or light leaks etc. turns out her camera was broken. I saw her cry and i saw another girl cry. It is possibly the most heartbreaking thing watching someone cry over their blank roll of film. i felt so bad, watching them. On the other hand, myself i did fine i had a few glitches with my camera with the light meter. no biggie. I enjoy developing my own film, the whole process. It can be very rewarding. Today i was explaining to my Aunt and Grandma about everything i have to go through to make a decent print. I explained every detail and i was like wow i really do have to do a lot. Honestly i got so used to doing it i forgot how many things i am doing. The both of them were looking at me like i was speaking a totally different language, it was quite humorous. I enjoy explaining the process i think i explained it well, i should be a teacher but i have zero patience. Plus the whole ” people” thing, i am not cut out for that. Anywho, as i keep describing everything i do i was like wow i put an enormous amount of time into photography this semester. I went several times during open lab hours i spent this past friday at the dark room finishing up things. NON-STOP from 10:30am to 3:30pm i did nothing but print about 6 prints which took multiple times to get a decent print i cut 12 mats for my prints, when i think about it, it is quite crazy. This semester am taking [soon to be took] six classes. Which is a pretty heavy schedule , especially including travel time and such. I am pretty positive i want to keep film photography in my life, i think i will always enjoy it. later on in life when i have lots of money i will make a darkroom in my house. Most definitely! I really do enjoy good ol’ Black & White photos.

here are portraits i did.

Digital,  have not forgotten about you! here are some photos i took last weekend @ St. Marys.
